Carrefour – French TV ADVERT

Hi everyone!
The Ornatrix tutorial is finally here.

I just finished a small tutorial explaining how to create realistic fur with Ornatrix.

There’s not much info around how to use Ornatrix, so I though that showing this kind of “making of” would be helpful for the starters like me.

I had some emails asking me questions about the tutorial and it seems that everybody though that this would be about the panther I did for Cartier Winter Tale. The truth is that, even if the panther project is much sexier than this one, the bear was much more a challenge to do, so I think this works much better for a tutorial.
I was in charge of creating this bear, rendering/lighting and hair for both characters.

Here is the video and some samples:

Cartier Winter Tale making of

Hi again! Happy 2013!

Here’s a making of that shows part of the process of the Cartier Winter Tale project done at Unit Image.
I’ll start working there again starting next week in a great project. I’ll be doing natural environments modeling, texturing, rendering and compositing, so it’s quiet out of what I’ve been doing lately. A great challenge for me, so I’m very excited! so wait to see some more impressive work by them in the next couple of months. Those guys are gonna kick ass this year :)

cheers!

Cartier Wintertale

Hi everyone!

I haven’t post much during the last couple of month, mostly because I’ve been busy working, so no speed sculting or personal project. In the other hand I have been able to work in some nice projects.

We (at Bjuice) did our first in-house production! We’ll be showing it in January maybe… we’re still discussing about that. I also did a second project with Blur, which was great! once again I was able to work with them and this time I learnt a lot.

Also, and this is why I’m doing this post, Cartier Wintertale has been out there like for a month or more, so if you haven’t seen it, here you can check it out.
It was done at Unit by pretty much the same team that did Zombi U, so quality is here once again.
My humble contribution was this panther, which I did in 10 days. We did this for large shoots, so the panther is not as detailed as I would like, but anyhow, here’s an image.

I hope everybody had a nice Christmas! Have a great happy new year!

Zombi U stills

Hi everyone!

Once again, no time no see… but this time I have some making of images from the “Zombi U” trailer we did at Unit Image.

For this project I was in charge of making skin textures and shaders for most of the chacarters in both, zombi and normal versions. Clothes were textured for the guy that was in charge of each scene. I also did some hair and lots of props.

So that’s it! After two months of vacations in my dear country, Chile, finally I have to start working again… so, call me! I’m willing to do some cool stuff and to work hard this year!

cheers!

ps: I added some bonus images to the making of!

Zombi U cinematic trailer

Hi everyone!

As I told you before I worked at Unit Image for a couple of months. It was a great experience and I really could make use of all the stuff I’ve been learning for the last year.

I’ll try to post my work on this project if it’s possible… Anyhow, I did the normal and the zombie version of the bus driver and lots of cloths modelling for some of the other characters. I also did some skin textures and shaders…I’ll try to post some images to be more precise about my work on this but before I have to ask for permission.

cheers!

Digital Art Masters vol 7

Hey!

Good news!…for me at least… my general’s portrait is in the “Digital Art Masters v 7″ compilation. There’s tons of great images in the book and a lot of info about how they were made, so if you are interested, get a copy.

What else…mmmm…ah! I haven’t been able to do some personal stuff because I have been working on several proyects (payed stuff, since we all need to eat) for the last 3 months. The good news is that after a year of posting stuff here in this blog, I finally made it to Blur Studios. If you read the “Intro” post you will notice this was the main reason for me to start with the blog, so in a way, an objective has been accomplished. Let’s hope they’ll be happy with my work and that they’ll continue to want to work with me…I’m crossing my fingers.

I’ll post some of the work I did for Unit Image soon! when the project will come out, in about two weeks :D

Cheers!

your friendly neighborhood the guy that makes three d stuff

Curious

Hi! it has been some hard couple of months since I entered Unit Image. We’re doing all we can to finish the project we’re working on as good as we can…but sssshhhhhh!! The only thing I can say right now is that you’ll see our work very soon!

Something else! KrisKelly3D, a guy from http://www.zbrushcentral.com leave this in my sketchbook post few weeks ago. I just wanted to share it since I’m very surprised that a girl has my Cash image tattooed in his thigh! quite strange :D

I’ll try to do some personal stuff soon :(

cheers!!
